Spend a year in the high desert of Santa Fe and emerge a creative and committed filmmaker with the knowledge and know-how to succeed in the competitive world of filmmaking.
The Moving Image Arts Department at the College of Santa Fe is launching a new and innovative program that begins in January 2007. The New Mexico Filmmakers Intensive (NMFI) is a one-year professional program focusing on three key creative areas: producing, directing and screenwriting.
Funded in part by a $1 million grant from the state of New Mexico, the New Mexico Filmmakers Intensive builds on the national reputation of the Moving Image Arts Department at the College of Santa Fe. With state-of-the-art equipment, world-class facilities and an extraordinary faculty of film industry professionals, the goal of the New Mexico Filmmakers Intensive is to support and cultivate emerging voices in American cinema right here in New Mexico.
Program Highlights
- Produce, write or direct a Super 16 or HD short film
- Every ‘green-lit’ production provided with a $10,000 budget
- Screenwriters complete a feature-length screenplay
